From time to time, someone will inquire about Matt Busch's interests outside of his work. What does he do in his spare time? Who are his artistic influences? What books does he read? Where does he draw inspiration from?

Here is a quick Q and A, which Matt has taken the time to answer . . .

FAVORITE ARTISTS: Where do I start?! Drew Struzan, J.C.Leyendecker, Gil Elvgren, Glenn Barr, David Grove and Michael Dudash. There are so many artists that I draw inspiration from that I couldn't even begin to make a list.

FAVORITE WRITERS: Depok Chopra, Warren Murphy, Richard Saphir, Paul Michael Kane, Frank Miller, Neil Gaiman, Michael Crichton, Tom Veitch... I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

FAVORITE FILM MAKERS: George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis, Ron Howard, Sam Raimi, James Cameron, M. Night Shayamalan, Bryan Singer and, of course, Trey Parker.

FAVORITE COMIC BOOK ARTISTS: Off the top of my head... Adam Hughes, Cam Kennedy, Dave McKean, Bill Sienkiewicz, Joe Chiodo, J. Scott Campbell, Simon Bisley, Travis Charest, Mike Mignola...

HOBBIES: I'm lucky that I've incorporated almost all of my hobbies into my work, but I find extra relaxation in writing and playing music. I play guitar, drums, piano and keyboards. I just finished building a full sound-proof recording studio at my house. It's funny, because I've built it with a complete laser light show. So when I've been drawing or painting for hourse and I need a break, I can go bang out on the drums and relieve some tension. I get to pretend I'm a rock star for ten minutes before getting back to work!

FAVORITE MOVIES: This could go on forever! Amelie, all the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films, Waiting For Guffman, The Fifth Element, Remo Williams, Life Is Beautiful, Romancing the Stone, Parenthood, Spider-man 1 and 2, Just Friends, Jackie Chan flicks, Chasing Amy, Legends of the Fall, Forrest Gump, Something About Mary, Old School, Indian Summer, and the Evil Dead Trilogy.

FAVORITE TV SHOWS: LOST is the greatest show ever. I loved American Gothic, Moonlighting the Tom Green Show. South Park is always great. I recently saw Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, laughed my ass off, and am intrigued to see more episodes... That doesn't mean I have a secret, does it?

FAVORITE VIDEO GAMES: Without a shadow of a doubt, FATAL FRAME I and II are the freakiest, scariest, nightnare-inducing games I've ever played! I've also had addictions to SILENT HILL and ZELDA.. Other than those, I'm a big fan of puzzle games like Tetris.

LAST BOOK READ: I've been reading tons of books both on Ghost Hunting and Digital Fimmaking... Hmmm... See a connection?

LAST CD BOUGHT: Nuno - Mourning Widows. It's an import from Japan.

ONE THING MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW: When I was 18 I got a huge Darth Vader tattoo on my left bicep. I just thought that Darth would be a great tattoo. Now that I work for the official STAR WARS universe, I haven't shown anyone at Lucasfilm for fear that I'd scare them away as a super-fan!

FAVORITE QUOTE: There are three kinds of people in the world: Those who make things happen; those who watch things happen; and those who say, "What happened?!"
