Matt
Busch was invited to take a bit part in a new, straight-to-video
Zombie flick! Directed by Kevin J. Lindenmuth and produced by Brimstone
Media Productions, this film called BERSERKERS is actually part
of a new series of one hour stories (ala Tales From the Crypt style)
called GOREGOYLES. You can find out more about Kevin's projects,
as well as Brimstone Media Productions at www.Lindenmuth.com.
WARNING:
Some of the images below may not be suitable for the squeemish.
Make-up
artist Roger Beckett applies a serious
wound to
Matt Busch's head.
Aside
from having a knack for special effects makeup, Roger Beckett is
also a fellow accomplished illustrator, having provided art for
WIZARD Magazine, DRAGON Magazine, and even the DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
Roleplaying Game.
With
the major gash almost complete, Matt Busch is ready to rock!
Talk
about a small world! Fans of Matt Busch's work may notice Kristin
Seta (right), who posed as Andrea Lombardo in his illustrated screenplay,
CRISIS. Kristin also happens to have one of the lead roles in BERSERKERS!
Matt
gets into character as he patiently awaits his scene.
(Note: the oak tree Matt is standing against is laced with poison
oak.)
Before
Matt can get ripped apart, extra attention is taken to turn the
extras into zombies! You can see director Kevin J. Lindenmuth
in the denim shorts.
Chained
to a large poison oak tree, Matt Busch struggles to escape as the
zombies draw near.
Nice!
Blood flies everywhere as the zombies maul Matt!
A
sneak-peek at the head 'Viking' zombie from BERSERKERS!
Matt
preparing to have his liver and intestines pulled out of his stomach.
"Waitaminute!
You mean I have to eat my own intestines?!"
Funny
thing, the above photograph, taken a week and ahalf after the shoot,
does NOT have any special FX make-up!
Another
gross look at one of Matt's arms. Doctors had never seen poison
oak this bad. Matt ended up in the hospital twice! That's what happens
when you writhe against poison oak for hours!
Matt
had to wrap up like a mummy for weeks! It even cut into the time
that www.MattBusch.com web designer, Paul Michael Kane came to Detroit
to visit with his lovely wife, Heather!
Not
a biggie. Everyone still had a blast. Here they are playing a sweet
game of giant sized chess!
There
is a happy ending, of course. Weeks later, the bandages came off,
and Matt got to tell his tale on the STATIC RADIO show on 97.1 FM,
Detroit's Talk Radio.
Some
may think that was a grueling amount to go through for three minutes
of screen time. But as Matt grins and puts it,
"All in the name of 'entertainment!'"
